Let's hold on....

Dear church family,

May the peace and joy of Jesus be with you this holiday season.

In the midst of the festivities and fun don’t take a holiday from the Lord.

Remember you are a “new man” in Christ and therefore use everything that you know of that reminds you of the new man and helps to build you up.

Be faithfully devoted to these life-giving activities:

1) Read the Scriptures and apply the truth to yourself.

Focus your mind and read intelligently looking for truth. As God’s words come to you, let them become a joy and the delight of your heart as you meditate on His truth.

This is how you feed the new man in Christ.

2) Take time to pray.

Pray about every aspect of your life. You are God's child, therefore, go to Him as your Father, share your weaknesses and ask for wisdom. The more you pray, the more you thank God for what He has done for you in Christ Jesus and by the Spirit and the more His life will be manifest through you.

3) Seek spiritual friendship with like-minded people.

When we meet in Jesus's name and the Spirit is present, then God acts and we are strengthened.

4) Be a joyful giver.

There is a “sowing and reaping” principle in Christian giving.

The more we are generous to God’s kingdom the more blessing will come back to us in one way or another.

God takes special pleasure in our obedience and generosity and this prompts him to reward us.

God loves a joyful giver who will be specially cared for by our Heavenly Father.

As you give yourself to these four things you will experience God’s love in a way that others do not.

May December be a time of recreative rest and blessing for you and your family.

May the personal presence and companionship of the Holy Spirit be with you.

Patrick
